‘Emergence’

Are you curious about exploring your innate and unique creativity? Would you like the opportunity to pause for a few hours and connect to your essential nature, rising within you?

As we welcome the season of spring, which holds an innate creative force, we invite you bring your curiosity to the stillness, the movement and the light that you hold within, as we return to the forest for a very special retreat day at The Woodsmoke.

We can’t tell you how excited we are to share this day with you. Open to all levels of experience, our intention is for this to be a gently immersive, nourishing and explorative retreat, bringing together practices that most light us up at this moment in time. We will draw on the tools of yoga, somatic movement, breath awareness and creative exploration.

Together we will explore practices that will support you to tap into your infinite potential, as we turn towards the light of spring and our inner light of creativity.

With over 60 years of teaching experience between us, we will be drawing on our personal practice, inspiration and ongoing inquiry to offer this space for us all to grow, emerge and explore what is possible as we experience the power of a truly creative embodied practice.

The day will include a delicious and nourishing plant based lunch, prepared by the wonderful Gilly, from Wylde Green Kitchen, and served by the fire.

For the coffee lovers amongst you there is also amazing barista coffee - and other beverages.

The afternoon will be guided by our special guest teacher Jo Cruickshanks. Jo is a somatic artist, whose work delves into un-learning and re-learning the vital creativity that is longing to be translated through our bodies. She will invite us to embark on an exploration in which we dissolve boundaries, ideas, and tensions around our artistic expression, and get curious with a sensory reimagining of our bodily terrains through fluid mark-making.

This is a deeply nourishing and non-scary way to open up a whole new world of creative expression and inner insight.

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.”
